Thabang Rooi has said that he and his teammates are confident of registering their win at the expense of beleaguered Golden Arrows when the two teams meet in a potential thriller on Tuesday, February 9.

Kick-off for the game, scheduled for the Moses Mabhida Stadium, is at 7:30pm.

Thabang Rooi admitted that they paid a heavy price for not concentrating beyond 90 minutes against relegation-threatened Jomo Cosmos last Saturday. The game ended 2 all after it looked like Chiefs would return home with all the points.

“We were aware going into the game that it was going to be very tough, as we were playing against a side that is fighting relegation.

We spoke among ourselves on Saturday after the game and we hope to rectify our mistakes going to the game against Golden Arrows,” said the Vaal-born defender, who is currently on a second season with the Glamour Boys.

“We know now that we cannot afford to drop any more points as that will spell an end of our ambition to win the league. We are also aware that we will need a huge favour from other teams to beat both SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns for us to stand a chance to challenge for league honours this season,” said Rooi, speaking to kaizerchiefs.com before the trip to Durban on Monday afternoon.

"Golden Arrows will also not be easy, as they will be looking to bounce back at our expense after losing their last two games.

"We have always played well in Durban in front of our supporters and we know that they are going to come in numbers to the stadium once again. We need them to rally behind the team throughout what has been a tough season,” added Rooi.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping to complete yet another double against Golden Arrows this season, after beating them at Orlando Stadium earlier in the season.
