MTN 8 Semifinals 1st Leg
Platinum Stars 0 - 2 Kaizer Chiefs
(50) George Maluleka
(90) George Maluleka
Kaizer Chiefs deflated Platinum Stars to take a healthy 2 - 0 lead to the 2nd Leg taking place at FNB Stadium next week.
Man of the Match, George Maluleka inspired Chiefs to a win with a brace of exquisite goals in front a half full Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday night.
Baxter looked at the results and expressed satisfaction at the proceedings, he said,
"I thought we played excellent football in the first twenty and last ten minutes. In between we lost concentration, but I'm glad we rectified that before the break."
On missing the other players due to injuries,
"Parker is coming nicely back to training. 'Shabba' is expected to full training in few days time. The injured players know that hard work is waiting for them when they return and they must give good performances to win their places in the line-up. It is going to be a healthy and a nice competition in the team when everybody is back," said Baxter.
Keeping the momentum,
"We demand that the players must keep their standard high. They are playing with enough freedom and structure. You want to be structured and that's what we want to emphasize," commented Baxter.
About Maluleka's performances?
"Maluleka likes a three man attacking midfield. As long as he keeps working like that he has good chances going forward," concluded Baxter.
Chiefs will switch their attention to the league when they face Celtic on Tuesday night at FNB Stadium.
