Missing from the Amakhosi’s training session on Monday were seven players who were involved in international games last Wednesday as they were given an extra rest day of rest by coach Vladimir Vermezovic.

Zimbabwean internationals Tinashe Nengomasha, Thomas Sweswe and striker Knowledge Musona who scored four goals in three games for club and country last week, were afforded the day off on Monday. They were in action against Mozambique last Wednesday, a game in which Musona scored during a 3-1 win for the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

“We gave them an extra day off to recover, they played in three games last week and it was important for them to get some time off for them to recuperate,” explained Vermezovic.

Amongst the players given the day off were midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane who along with Siphiwe Tshabalala, Sthembiso Ngocobo and Itumeleng Khune was part of the Bafana Bafana squad who took on the USA in a friendly international on the 17th November in Cape Town.

Letsholonyane spent the day catching up on some much needed rest, as he said “it was a busy week last week after we played against Pirates it was off to Cape Town and then we came back and were off to Polokwane for the Santos game.

“It was good to have the last two days to rest I spent most of today relaxing and I went to visit my parents as well, I am looking forward to getting back to work on Tuesday and preparing for the game against Vasco Da Gama well rested and fired up.”
