Amakhosi’s reserve team concluded the 2023/24 DStv Diski Challenge season with a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City reserves at the Malta Park Sports complex in Cape Town on Saturday.
Despite missing out on the opportunity to move ahead of SuperSport United into fourth place, the adverse result did not affect their ultimate fifth placing, the position which they held going into the final match of the national U-23 league campaign.
Over at The Village, Amakhosi youth teams hosted Panorama in what turned out to be an evenly-contested series of age-group match-ups. The U-13s drew 1-1, the U-15s played to a goalless stalemate, and the U-17s also finished at 1-1. The Chiefs U-19s, however, proved too strong for their opponents, running out comfortable 3-1 winners, to end the day on a high note.
The coming weekend will see the boys travel to Clapham to face Mamelodi Sundowns, kicking off with the U-13 match at 9:00 on Sunday morning, 19 May. This will be followed by the U-15s at 10:30, the U-17s at noon, and the U-19s getting underway at 14:00.
