Rain belts out Chiefs and Swallows

The weather got the better of Chiefs this past Saturday as the Amakhosi had to cancel their final warm up game ahead of Wednesday’s, crucial league game against Sundowns when the PSL resumes after almost two months of no action.

Chiefs were meant to take on the Birds in the inaugural African Jazz Heritage Trophy, but had to alternate their plans after the playing surface at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg was water logged after. With non stop rain through out Gauteng and the North West Province from Friday evening up until late Saturday morning it was always going to take its toll on the pitch.

Deeming the surface unplayable the match officials decided to call off the game and instead Chiefs headed back to Johannesburg where they held a training session late on Saturday afternoon. It is not clear at this time when the game will be replayed but organizers have assured it will happen some time later in the year.
