Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has told players holding two yellow cards not to hold back in Wednesday’s league game against Classic in Rustenburg.

The Amakhosi have a number of key players who have picked up two yellow cards meaning that should they receive a third yellow card they would be in danger of missing the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Middendorp, though, has told his players not to hold back and play their normal game. “We need to win on Wednesday and it does not make sense to take players out or ask guys to go easy the guys have been told not to hold back,” said the coach.

The coach is confident that should any players pick up their third yellow cards, the team has the depth to replace them. “We have thirty three players and in a season you expect injuries and suspensions if one player is out we have equally capable replacements. I go on television saying that I want more commitment than how can I ask players to be cautious we need the three points and after that we will see what happens,” continued the coach.

A number of key players such as Jimmy Tau, Fabian McCarthy, Thabo Mooki, Scara Ngobese, Tinashe Nengomasha and Derrick Spencer are presently on two yellow cards and in danger of missing the crucial Pirates clash.
