Josta Dladla insisted on Thursday morning speaking to kaizerchiefs.com that the team has not put itself under pressure by winning the Telkom Charity Cup last Saturday at Soccer City.

The Glamour Boys pushed aside both rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinal and Orlando Pirates in the final to win the tournament for a record 11 times since inception 25 years ago.

“Our fans expected us to win on Saturday…in fact the fans expect us to win each and every game we play even if it is a friendly game.

Expectations from fans ahead of this season are normal as they are used to the team winning trophies,” said Dladla.

“Winning at Kaizer Chiefs is part of a culture and even if we had not won the Cup last Saturday there would have been expectations for us to win the next tournaments starting with the MTN8.”

Dladla who have been moved back to the position just behind a striker during the preseason games feels that he will need to work harder to hold on the starting place in the team this season.

“I am pushing myself very hard at training because I want to play. Competition for places is always going to be very tough in this team. I am feeling good and ready to fight for the team,” he concluded.
