Kaizer Chiefs and Ugandan international David Obua has vowed to capitalise on their Nigeria’s poor preparations when the two countries meet in Group Three African Cup of Nations qualifier in Uganda over the weekend.

Following a heavy criticism by the ‘Super Eagles’ German-born coach Berti Vogts, who lambasted his association for poor training ahead of this thrilling clash, Obua’s prediction of pulling the biggest scalp in continental football might be justified.

The unbeaten Nigerian side, who defeated the Cranes 1-0 at home to consolidate their top spot after three matches, are on nine points, five ahead of the home team, but Obua is not perturbed by all that.

With Niger also facing Lesotho in this group, Obua is aware that a loss in front of their fans will dent their chances of strutting their stuff in Ghana when Africa’s giants meet to determine who rides the crest of the wave ahead of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

“We can beat them. They are not having the best of preparations and we need to capitalise on that,” said Obua.

“We have nothing to lose but so much to gain. Nigeria are a super country and beating them will surely put us in the map.”

With the absence of England based duo of John Mikel Obi, who plays for Chelsea, and bulky striker Obafeni Martins of Newcastle United through injuries, Uganda stand a chance, something that will make Obua proud and look forward to next season with Chiefs with verve and determination after a disappointing campaign from the roving left-back.
