Ernst Middendorp, Kaizer Chiefs first team coach has come out in praise of Defender Cyril Nzama for his debut role as captain this past weekend against SuperSport Untied.

Nzama lead out a very different looking Amakhosi team against United at a rain soaked Loftus Stadium in Pretoria as the Amakhosi played out a commendable and exciting draw with Matsasantsa.

“ Cyril showed on Sunday that he is a true leader and a respected figure by the way he conducted himself on Sunday, also the way he was able to communicate with the guys and when we went a goal down he kept on motivating the other guys” said Ernst Middendorp.

The coach has further praised Nzama for his behaviour on the pitch and away from it; the coach continued further “when you put some one in a leadership role, he has to be a person who leads by example in all aspects of life. He must be hard working, socially stable and some one who his peers look up to and I firmly believe that Nzama possesses all of these qualities”.
