With only 20 days to go before the kick off of Confederations Cup also known as “Festival of Champions”, Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has told kaizerchiefs.com that the spirit in the camp is very high and all the players are looking forward to what promises to be a grueling tournament.

“We are all very close here and looking forward to the challenges ahead,” said the Chiefs Player of the Year 2008/9 season.

“We are pushing each other very hard at training as we all want to be part of the 23 men squad to be announced early in June. We have also been following developments around Confederations, the teams that coming here and so on. The excitement is building up,” revealed “Shabba”.

Tshabalala with a total of 36 games (he missed one league game due to suspension) in 2008/9 season, said he is hoping fatigue will not catch up with him during the tournament.

“I have had a long season with no rest, but I am looking forward like the rest of the guys to the tournament. I am hoping our new coach at Chiefs (Vladimir Vermezovic) will give me a rest after the tournament,” he concluded.
