Amakhosi striker Lehlohonolo Majoro may have scored three goals already this season but he is not putting any pressure on himself by setting specific targets, instead he believes that his current strategy of going step by step and taking each game as it comes has paid off handsomely and he intends to keep up with that approach.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com Majoro who has netted three goals in five league appearances this season said, “I am not putting any targets in front of me by suggesting that I have a certain number of goals after this many games as that will put increased pressure on me.

If it happens that I score that will be good, I am also a team player and will help my teammates to score if that is better for the team. It is about the team, I rather contribute to a team win than squander goal scoring opportunities.”

Majoro who scored in Chiefs opening three league games this campaign could have equaled a record set by David Modise in 1996 had he scored in four successive league games and he came close to achieving heading against the cross bar in the final seconds of the game against Ajax.

According to him it is a good thing that he did not know he could have made history, “you know going into the game against Ajax two matches ago. I did not know of the record and I am pleased that no one told me. As it would have exerted more pressure on me and it would have distracted me as I would have targeted the record and not kept my focus on helping the team.”

After being part of last weekend’s victory over Pirates Majoro now has his sights on playing against Bloemfontein Celtic in the Free State capital on Saturday evening, he is wary of the danger that Clinton Lasrsen’s team poses.

“I may have played against Celtic before but I have learnt that from season to season they improve certain aspects of their play and I cannot compare them to past seasons because they have gotten better. They are a tough team to play against and we know that, still we have to go there and do our best to get the three points”.

Majoro knows just how difficult that will be having watched Celtic in action this season but he does feel that Chiefs can snatch the points in Bloemfontein, “I watched them play against Santos and Golden Arrows and they were good in those games.

We have prepared over the week to play against them and we have the win over Pirates which has helped put us on top of the league and ready to ensure that we do well at home and away and keep leading.”
