Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung has vehemently denied media reports that Kaizer Chiefs have any interest or have had any discussions with out of contract Orlando Pirates midfielder Steve Lekoelea.

Motaung commenting on an article linking Lekoelea to Chiefs that appeared in Tuesday afternoons Star newspaper said “If people want to sell their newspaper do not do it by creating rumours about Chiefs. We have had no contact with Lekoelea or any one representing him at this point in time Steve Lekoelea is not even a discussion at Naturena”.

Bobby appeared on radio station Kaya Fm on Tuesday night to bring more clarity on the matter and has also reiterated that Chiefs are not out to poach players from Pirates as certain sections of the media have been saying.

“Jimmy Tau’s transfer to Chiefs was a special case and it was a historic one, people are aware of the history between the two clubs and it does not happen every day that players switch between us and them,” intoned Motaung.

Motaung said that he had discussed the matter with chairman Kaizer Motaung and as it stands Chiefs have no interest in the player.
