Commenting after Thursday afternoon’s Coca-Cola Cup draw - Amakhosi team manager Bobby Motaung warned supporters not to be over excited with the clubs first round draw in the tournament.

“We have learned from Cup Competitions in the past, that there is no such a thing as a minnow, that the form book gets thrown out of the window, and we must be careful not to be over confident,” he said.

Motaung also added that he was happy with the fact that the draw seeded the top eight finishers in the PSL from last season, which meant that Chiefs would avoid having to face Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic.

Furthermore he added that “we take every game seriously but I am happier playing Classic than one of the bigger teams.

"With so much at stake, it really does not matter who you play because everyone wants to win this competition and everyone wants to beat Chiefs."

Motaung has relished the Amakhosi’s success in this competition, which coincided with his first season as team manager when Chiefs beat Cosmos 5-0 to take home the trophy in 2001.
