Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeping woes have eased up with the return of Under-20 international goalkeeper, Thela Ngobeni at training after suffering an injury two weeks ago.

“I am starting training today,” Ngobeni told kaizerchiefs.com ahead of the training session on Tuesday morning.

Ngobeni was left behind by U20 national team coach, Serame Letsoaka to the team that went to Germany for a camp ahead of the departure to Ethiopia next Sunday.

“I did honour the call up yesterday but the coach advised me to stay behind and work with goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker as chances of me playing were slim. I appreciated that and I am happy to be back at training. I will join the rest of my U20 teammates when they come back from Germany.”

Meanwhile, Ngobeni’s teammate Mandla Masango was one of the missing players on Tuesday when the team resumed training as he left with the U20 squad for a series of friendly games in Germany in preparation of the U20 World Cup to be held in Egypt later this month.
