Thela Ngobeni has told kaizerchiefs.com that he and the rest of his Amajita teammates are confident of beating Botswana on Saturday. The two sides lock horns in the second leg African Youth Championship qualifier at Absa Stadium in Kimberley.

The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper said they are prepared both mentally and physically for the upcoming encounter, “It is a huge game for us. It comes at a time where both Bafana Bafana and Banyana have failed to qualify for African showpiece. Eyes are now on us.

It will not be good at all if the country to host the World Cup cannot send even one team to the African competition” he said speaking of the importance of the game.

“The best four teams in African Youth Championships qualify for the U20 World Cup. We all know though that we have to beat Botswana to start thinking about the challenges ahead. Botswana cannot be underestimated though as they play good football. We could only come back with a draw away from home.

We are determined to do even better this time around” added the Katlehong born youngster.

Thela Ngobeni is not the only youngster from Chiefs who will among the group of youngsters who will be carrying the hopes of the South Africans on Saturday, defender Lawrence Molekwane and Mandla Masango have also been included in the squad by coach, Serame Letsoaka.

The game will kick off at 18h00.
