Amakhosi striker Sthembiso Ngcobo is looking to make up for not hitting the back of the net against BIDVest Wits on Wednesday by finding a goal or more when Chiefs come face to face with the Students for the second time in four days on Sunday afternoon in a Nedbank Cup Last 16 encounter.

“I should have scored big time on Wednesday, I had the opportunities to do so but unfortunately I could not turn them home” said Ngcobo. Who then added that the Amakhosi were not happy to have drawn the game against Wits and will be looking to change that on Sunday.

“Wednesday’s draw actually felt like a loss to us, whenever we do not win a game we really disappointed, especially given that we played well and I feel as a team we gave a good account. Now we know what we up against on Sunday and we ready for the challenge.”

According to Ngcobo Chiefs laid the ground work for a successful game on Sunday with their midweek showing against Wits, “I am confident that if we play the way we did in the last game and show the same kind of determination and effort things will work out for us.

It is up to us though to make our chances count, we did get into the final third on a number of occasions, this time out if chances do come to me and the other guys we won’t let them pass us by. We will aim to score as many goals as we can.”

Ngcobo also believes that not being able to defeat Wits in the league clash has given Chiefs added motivation to go out and win on Sunday, “looking at the way the game went and the fact that we know we should have won the game has only made us more determined to want a win on Sunday.

Winning this game will definitely give us a boost for the league game against SuperSport on Wednesday, victory against Wits can also have a roll on effect for us and can help us go on to win all of our remaining games this season.”
