Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday 8th January unveiled newly signed striker, Abia Nale at the Club’s headquarters in Naturena, Johannesburg. The player joined the Glamour Boys on a three and half year contract after sterling performances for Durban based side, Golden Arrows.

Kaizerchiefs.com took time to speak to the Vaal born soft speaking star after he was unveiled officially as a Kaizer Chiefs player.

You must be happy this day has finally arrived after reports that other clubs were chasing your signature...

I am relieved it is all over and now I can focus on playing football rather than reading all that was reported on newspapers during the break. I am where I wanted to be and I do not have any regrets. I grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs and it is a dream come true for me to join the Club.

Did you speak to any of the players in particular your homeboys, Mokete Tsotetsi and Thabang Rooi about life at Chiefs?

I did not speak to anyone in particular but I knew how professional Chiefs are as a Club and wanted to be part of this set up. I was aware how the Club looks after players. I never had doubts.

You seem to be getting on quite well with the guys already...

I know guys like Khune since we were all playing for Development teams. I was at Orlando Pirates while they were playing for Chiefs development. I played with Michael (Nkambule) in the national U20 while other guys I know them from Vaal. I did not have any problems settling in since my arrival last week. During the camp, I was roomed with Wayne Matle. He is a nice guy and likes cracking jokes.

There is a lot of expectation from the supporters for the team to challenge the Absa Premiership this season...

The feeling in the camp is that we can still win it. Everyone is determined and focused on that goal, winning the league. I want to be part of it!

You have been handed no.11 jersey...

(Smiling) I am aware with the history associated with the jersey. I will work extra hard in ensuring that I add value to the team. However, I will not put myself under pressure. I will take things as they come and with the support of both the Technical team and my teammate I will succeed.

What do you want to achieve before your contract is over...

I want to command a regular place in the team first. I also want to be recognised nationally and internationally. The latter will depend on how I do here at Chiefs. I want to win things with the Club and the rest will depend from God.
