Bafana Bafana coach, Joel Natalino Santana named midfielder Abia Nale to the squad to take on Serbia on the Wednesday, 12 August 2009. Nale is joined by his teammate Itumeleng Khune whereas there was no place for injured Siphiwe Tshabalala.

“Mkhuthuzi” as Abia is affectionately known speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday expressed his delight for the call up.

“I am delighted with the call up. This to me is a demonstration of the work we have been doing as a team since the preseason,” said the soft speaking Nale.

The game will be played at Super Stadium in Tshwane. Kick off is at 19h00.
