Musona admits to be still ‘haunted’ by the miss in the final

Sensation, Knowledge ‘Smiling Assassin’ Musona has spoken openly for the first time on how much the second half miss against Ajax Cape Town in the Telkom Final at Absa Stadium in Durban is haunting him.

Musona who has scored seven goals for the Glamour Boys this season had just given the Glamour Boys a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of second half but missed a clear opportunity following a superb cross from EL Capitan, Jimmy Tau.

“I still cannot believe that I missed that ball,” he told kaizerchiefs.com on Tuesday afternoon.

“Tap ins are always difficult to score, you can ask even Christiano Ronaldo. I think in my case I also celebrated before putting the ball at the back of the net.

The Coach (Vladimir Vermezovic) has always told me that I need to use my right foot when the ball comes from the right and my left foot when the cross comes from the left but I opted for the wrong foot.

I am glad though that we won the game but I still feel I should have scored that goal,” he said with a smile.

Musona who had joined his teammates at the gym today also revealed that everyone is enjoying training despite the fact that the team will only play competitive games next season, “It is still the same as the time when we were preparing games. We are professionals and we know that we have got to continue giving 100% at training whether it is at the gym or at the Village.”

“The Coach has told us that preparations for the next season begin now. The feeling in the team is that we need to do much better next season than we did this season. We have set ourselves high goals and hard work starts now,” added The ‘Smiling Assassin’.
