The Kaizer Chiefs pair of Kabamba Musasa and Jabulani Mendu departs for Turkey today (Tuesday) for a two-week trial organised by the club.

Musasa and Mendu were invited to participate in a mini pre-season European tournament by Fifa agent Hassan Colakoglu.

Colakoglu works very closely with ex Turkish based Amakhosi star John “Shoes” Moshoeu, who through him and team manager Bobby Motaung organised the trials for the players.

The agent identified the two players during Amakhosi’s participation in the Peace Cup in Korea in 2003 when Chiefs drew 1-1 with Turkish club Besiktas. Mendu and Musasa will feature as guest players for various Turkish and European based teams that will be participating in this annual mini pre-season tournament. It is here that the two will be evaluated accordingly before the European transfer window closes.

The tournament, which will be held in Turkey’s coastal city Antalia, will last for two weeks and the players will then be expected back at Naturena for training.

"This tournament represents a valuable opportunity for the two players and Kaizer Chiefs could not stand in their way. Most of the players join Chiefs with the ultimate objective of playing overseas as the club offers that kind of platform," said team manager Bobby Motaung.

"Chiefs will definitely pursue the selling of other players to European and other international markets in the near future following the interest generated by our participation in the 2003 Peace Cup and our upcoming participation in the African Champions League. Mendu and Musasa will be leaving this afternoon (Tuesday) for Turkey and Chiefs take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck," said Motaung.
