Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns had an opportunity to express their MTN8 quarterfinals match intention in front of media at a PSL joint press conference held at the PSL offices in Park Town, Johannesburg today August 1, 2012.

The conference was a sequel to the launch and announcement of the renewal of MTN sponsorship to the PSL which took place yesterday at the MTN Headquarters on Tuesday July 31, 2012.

Representing Chiefs and Sundowns at the conference were Assistant Coaches Doctor Khumalo and Harold Legodi and Senior Players Josta Dladla and Surprise Moriri respectively.

According to Doctor Khumalo, Chiefs preparations for the upcoming season went according to plan starting with preseason camp, Gauteng Sports Challenge success and unfortunate loss to their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates on July 28, 2012. When asked about injuries, Doctor Khumalo reported Jimmy Tau, George Lebese and Siphiwe Tshabalala as injured but highlighted to the media present at the conference that Chiefs comprised of twenty-seven players and the injuries will not affect Chiefs come Sunday.

Midfielder, Josta Dladla believes that Kaizer Chiefs will be an even better team when they come face to face with Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld in the MTN8 quarter final clash on Sunday, 05 August 2012.

“We will be much better and ready for Mamelodi Sundowns this coming weekend,” said Josta Dladla who played for Mamelodi Sundowns when the two sides came up against each other in the MTN8 final back in 2008.”

“Playing Sundowns in their own backyard will be tough but we are ready for them. They always want to beat us. It is going to be war. They are going to come to us and we will definitely be going for them.”

“These are games that as a player you look forward to and we want our names on that cup and for us to reach the final we have to beat Sundowns.”

“The Coach has been superb and we getting to understand what he is expecting of us on the pitch. We are pleased to be working with him,” added Josta Dladla.
