Chiefs left back Ditheko Mototo opted not to renew his current contract with The Amakhosi, which expires at the end of June and will instead be taking up residency in Bloemfontein, as he has agreed terms with Bloemfontein Celtic. The 27 year old who joined Chiefs prior to the start of the 2005 – 2006 season will in the off season be transferring from Chiefs to Celtic, Mototo made his debut for Chiefs against SuperSport United in November 2005 and has played a total of 55 matches in all competition for Chiefs. During the current season Mototo has made seven starts in league matches for the club, while he has appeared on three more occasions as a substitute in the league. Mototo also play in two cup matches both of those were as a substitute.

Family commitments

Mototo wrote a letter to Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung the player wrote the club a letter, where he detailed his reasons for wanting to leave. On that issue Motaung said “Ditheko wrote to us and said that because of personal and family reasons he would like to take up an offer tabled to him by Bloemfontein Celtic, as he wanted to be closer to his family. So we have acceded to his wish and hope he is able to serve his new team as well as he served us”.

Amicable departure

Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung was happy with the way Mototo ended his tenure with the club explaining, “it was an amicable parting between club and players. Ditheko was very professional about the fact that he wanted to leave, he was a good servant of the club and we appreciate all that he did for Kaizer Chiefs. We wish him all the best and hope he can continue to grow as a player”.
