Mooki: It’s too early to write us off

Kaizer Chiefs veteran midfielder, Thabo Mooki has refused to throw in the towel following a goalless draw against AmaZulu on Sunday at Chatsworth Stadium.

The Glamour Boys missed a chance to close the gap between themselves and log leaders, Supersport United who face AmaZulu on Wednesday.

“It is still too early to write us off, anyone who is doing that is doing it at his own peril,” warned the veteran midfielder who won the league with the Club in 2003/4 and 2004/2005 season.

“We are up against Supersport United this coming weekend, a ‘must win’ game for us. We cannot afford to give away points at this stage of the season,” said ‘Tsiki-tsiki’.

Mooki who watched from the bench believes that the team did well against AmaZulu and were unlucky not to return back to Johannesburg with maximum points.

“We played well but we were unfortunate not to score against AmaZulu. We just need to take from where we left off against AmaZulu when we meet Superport United at Loftus on Saturday. We need to play our normal game against them because we have been playing well. All we need to do is to consolidate on the performance we have given in the past couple of weeks.
