Absa Premiership

Kick Off: 20h00

Playing Conditions: Partly Cloudy, light easterly wind temperature at kick off 26°C

For the first time in his fourteen years at the Amakhosi veteran midfielder Thabo Mooki will be the first player to walk out onto the field, on Saturday evening when Chiefs play their final game of the year against Black Leopards.

The 33-year-old Mooki will captain The Amakhosi on Saturday evening in the absence of Cyril Nzama, who is serving a one match ban after he picked up his third Yellow card of the season when Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic played to a 1-1 draw last Sunday. Muhsin Ertugral will be looking to round off 2007 with a win and has again been forced to make amendments to his team that managed to return on Sunday from Bloemfontein with a point.

Mooki to lead

The suspension of Cyril Nzama has meant a return to the starting line up for Jimmy Tau, who makes a return at right back after he missed out and Chiefs last two matches against Golden Arrows and Bloemfontein Celtic. Ertugral has kept to his 3-5-2 formation but has sacrificed David Obua from the starting eleven, and has replaced him in centre of midfield with Thabo Mooki who has also been handed the captaincy for the match.

The Chiefs coach holds the veteran midfielder in high esteem as is hoping that Mooki can use his years of experience to help Chiefs gain three points out of this game. Gerald Sibeko has also been moved to the substitute’s bench, the young Mandla Masango gets to start the match, it will be the first time he does so since the 7th November he last played a game for Chiefs on 9th December when he came on as a substitute during Chiefs goalless draw with Santos.

Junior in front

With Mabhudi Khenyeza still tending to a badly bruised ankle Muhsin Ertugral has gone for Kaizer Motaung Junior as the lone man in attack, Motaung comes in ahead of Shaun Bartlett who started against Celtic. Motaung though did manage to come off the bench and found Chiefs an equalizer; he too will be looking to round off the year in style with a goal or two.
