Amakhosi players Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Knowledge Musona and captain Jimmy Tau were nominated for three awards as the 2010 – 2011 season culminated with the Premier Soccer Leagues end of season prize giving ceremony, which was held at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theater in Johannesburg on Sunday evening.



Striker Musona was the big winner for Chiefs on the night, he was named as the 2010 – 2011 Telkom Knockout player of the tournament ahead of his Chiefs team mate Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Orlando Pirates’ Andile Jali.



For his riveting performance’s in helping Chiefs to win the Cup Musona was given a cash incentive of R200 000.



Musona also collected the prize for the Absa Premiership’s top scorer as his fifteen league goals were enough to win him the R25 000 Cheque as the leagues top marksmen for the season.



Musona who netted 20 goals in all competitions this season did lose out on one nomination, his over head kick which gave Chiefs the lead during their 2-0 league triumph over Mpumalanga Black Aces back in December was nominated for the Absalutely Awesome goal award.



Instead that prize went to Orlando Pirates’ Tlou Segolela for his special solo goal against Free State Stars.



Chiefs captain Jimmy Tau was nominated alongside Andile Jali of Orlando Pirates and Thulani Serero of Ajax Cape Town for the coveted Absa Premiership Player of the season award.



Instead Serero was crowned as the Premiership’s best player, Serero was the overall star of the show as he won a total of four individual prizes.
