Mbesuma injury scare

Zambian junior international Collins Mbesuma scored a sensational debut goal for his new club Kaizer Chiefs against Black Leopards at Soccer City on Saturday but sadly left the field with an injury soon afterwards.

Mbesuma was badly caught just above the ankle as he netted the opening goal on 17 minutes and the Amakhosi technical team immediately called Sbusiso Dlamini to fill his place when it became apparent that he could no longer continue with play.

It was a major setback for the Zambian under-23 hitman as he appeared well on top of his game after being given an unexpected start. This injury could also spell trouble for the Zambians who had called him up for their next Olympic qualifier against Algeria next Saturday.

"We sent him in for a scan, which came out clear but he is still a bit sore," said team physiotherapist David Milner. "We had to release him Zambia so that they can also check him that side."
