Amakhosi will wrap their three home game run, dubbed Umcimbi waMakhosi, in Durban this afternoon when they take on Polokwane-based Sekhukhune United in a Betway Premiership fixture at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The two teams had contrasting results in their league matches last weekend. This is as Amakhosi went down to Lamontville Golden Arrows by a solitary goal at today’s venue, while Sekhukhune emerged victorious against SuperSport United, beating them 3-0 in Atteridgeville.
The home side are in position 7 on the log with 18 points collected after 13 games. Babina Noko are 4th with 23 points after playing 12 league matches this season.
Chiefs will be happy to welcome defender Rushwin Dortley from injury as he comes on for Thatayaone Ditlhokwe at back. He is one of four changes Chiefs have made for this match.
Another notable change will see George Matlou start his first match in a while after coming on from the bench against Arrows after his long injury lay off. He replaces the injured Mduduzi Shabalala. Captain, Yusuf Maart will be on the bench, giving way to Samkelo Zwane in the middle of the park. The last change will see Pule Mmodi come in for Mfundo Vilakazi.
On the bench, Chiefs will be led by assistant Khalil Ben Youssef after coach Nasreddine Nabi was shown a red card minutes after the final whistle last week.
The technical team will keep to a 4-3-3 formation this afternoon against Sekhukhune.
Bruce Bvuma is the goalkeeper.
At the back, Chiefs have Bradley Cross on the left, Dortley and Inacio Miguel at centre-back and Njabulo Blom is on the right.
Sibongiseni “Ox” Mthethwa is joined by Zwane in a joint holding role in midfield, while Matlou is the playmaker.
On the wings, Mmodi is on the left with Tebogo Potsane on the right.
Leading the attack is Wandile Duba.
With Maart on the bench, Miguel will wear the captain’s armband.
Akhona Makalima is this afternoon’s referee. She will be assisted by Simukele Jali and Jimmy Kgaphola. The fourth official is Lalelani Mngadi.
