Amakhosi new signing Michael Nkambule and additional new comer to the Kaizer Chiefs first team set up, Wayne Matle, have been called up to the South Africa U-23 team to face their Danish counterparts in two friendly international matches to be staged on the 30th January and 2nd February.

The first match on the 30th of January will be staged at the Eldorado Park Stadium in Johannesburg, while the next game, to be played three days later on the 2 February, will take place at the Caledonian Stadium in Tshwane.

Matle was drafted into the 24 man squad for the two game series as a replacement for the injured Ajax Cape Town midfielder Clifford Ngobeni, while Nkambule progresses up from the national under 20 team, for whom he starred for late last year during the COSAFA U-20 tournament.

The dynamic, hard working midfielder was voted as the player of the tournament. National u-23 Coach Steve Komphela will be hoping that Nkambule can produce the same kind of form for the U-23’s just as he has done for the national u-17 and national u-20 teams in the past few years.
