David Mathebula has warned his teammates that they need to go all out and win both legs if they are to realize their dream of defending the MTN8 trophy they won last season.

The stylish midfielder was talking to kaizerchiefs.com on Friday before traveling to Cape Town for the highly charged fixture against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday, 15 August 2009.

Kick off for the most anticipated fixture of the weekend at Newlands Stadium is at 20h15.

“It is important that we do well in both legs not only in Cape Town this weekend but even in the return fixture,” warned David Mathebula who captained the side for the quarterfinal fixture against Bidvest Wits early this month.

“We can go to Cape Town, score three goals and we win 3-0, but they can come to Orlando Stadium and do the same? My point is that we should concentrate on winning both games starting with the game in Cape Town this weekend.”

The midfielder has been in superb form this season and it was his goal that sealed the semi final berth when the score was level against Bidvest at Rand Stadium earlier this month.

“I scored two goals last season and I felt that was not enough. This season my aim is to score more goals. I have also been practicing free kicks and hope to score more during the season.”

There are times when in a game the chance you get is from a set piece and it is important that you put those away. I also want to continue creating more opportunities for my teammates and that will not only bring success to me but the team,” he concluded.
