Vladimir Vermezovic revealed that stylish midfielder David Mathebula will go for an operation on his troublesome groin at the end of the season.

Mathebula, who was on top form last season, has made only few appearances this season and sat on the bench in Saturday’s draw against Orlando Pirates.

“David is now okay, fit to play after struggling with his groin. He is going for surgery at the end of May. He was available for selection on Saturday. He has been working very hard at training and will be ready to do the business when called to do so,” said Vermezovic.

Meanwhile, Mathebula has vowed to fight for his place. “It is never easy to break into the starting 11 as other guys have been doing well despite not winning. I am going to continue working hard at training and when I get my chance I will grab it with both hands,” said Mathebula.
