Mateba who is in his second season with the Glamour Boys after joining at the start of last season featured as a substitute in a game against Tottenham Hotspur and against Orlando Pirates last weekend.
“I have grown as a player both from mental and physical perspective. I need to work more on reading the game and tactical awareness,” said Mateba who was handed the celebrated no. 12 jersey on his arrival.
Mateba believes that the team has benefited a lot from the preseason games, “I think we did well during the preseason even though some of the results did not go our way. The most important thing was preparation.”
“Serious business starts this coming Sunday with the MTN8 game against Bidvest Wits and we are all geared up for the season. Personally, I am going to continue working hard in improving all aspects of my game. We going to take it one game at a time,” added Mateba who has represented South Africa at junior level.
