Kaizer Chiefs are in the City of Roses this evening at the Toyota stadium to face Siwelele FC in their 26th Betway Premiership fixture of the season.
Amakhosi arrived in Bloemfontein on the back of a demanding Soweto Derby just three days ago, where they battled to a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates. Siwelele also shared the spoils in their previous outing, playing to a goalless stalemate against Golden Arrows.
On the log, Amakhosi currently sit in third place with 47 points from 25 matches, while the home side occupies 11th position with 29 points, also from 25 games.
For today’s clash, coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef have made three changes: Paseka Mako comes in for Bradley Cross, Thabo Cele replaces Sibongiseni Mthethwa, and Mduduzi Shabalala takes the place of Siphesihle Ndlovu.
The team has changed to a 4-4-2 formation.
The goalkeeper is Brandon Petersen, who also captains the team.
Mako will start on the left of defence, with Aden McCarthy and Given Msimango combining at the centre-back and Thabiso Monyane will be on the right.
Cele is the holding midfielder. He will have Lebohang Maboe and the goalscorer in the Derby, Pule Mmodi, just in front of him. Shabalala will play in the number 10 role.
The attackers are once again Wandile Duba and Glody Lilepo.
This evening’s referee is Siyabulela Qunta. His assistants will be Kamohela Ramutsindela and Elphas Sitole. The fourth official is Michael Mosemeng.
With a few games remaining, it’s all to play for with over 20 000 supporters anticipated in the stadium this evening to witness the exciting match.
The Betway Premiership match between the Glamour Boys and Siwelele sa Masele starts at 19:30 at Toyota stadium in Bloemfontein.
The match is live on SuperSport’s PSL channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations. There will be regular updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
