Hardly a week after sharing spoils with arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in an entertaining Soweto derby match at FNB stadium last Saturday, the defending league champions Kaizer Chiefs are bracing themselves for another tricky and difficult encounter as they intensify their preparations for an all important Castle Premiership clash against other Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows also at the same venue and same time.

“It may sound too much but it is a challenge we are prepared to face and overcome, with the way Swallows are playing now it’s like the Soweto derby part 2 particularly now that Pirates won their game on Tuesday night against Ajax cape Town”, says Communications Manager Putco Mafani. “True character on the part of our players, is now of utmost importance, and there is no denying that the four remaining games will attract a lot of attention and pressure”

Mafani said there is immense interest from all quarters of South Africa about how his team will do in the last games. Amakhosi face Swallows this Saturday at 3:15pm in their last home game of the season, and after that they will be on the road, first away to Bush Bucks in East London on Saturday, 14 May 2005, and on their return will embark on a tricky trip to Supersport United at Securico stadium on Wednesday, 18th may 2005 at 7:30pm. Their last hurdle will be Bloemfontein Celtic away at the Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein on Sunday 22 May 2005 at 3:15pm.

Chiefs lost the first round to Swallows but seem determined to use this game and edge the Dube birds, who, usually give up easily against Amakhosi when it matters most.

In order to close the gap again between them and log leaders Orlando Pirates who have two games remaining with a six points gap, Chiefs have to use all four remaining games collecting all maximum points at stake.
