Vladimir Vermezovic has told kaizerchiefs.com that young striker, Lucky Khune, who has been impressive at training, will ‘get his chance’ soon.

The former Kaizer Chiefs Under-20 striker was promoted at the beginning of the season but is yet to make his official debut for the side or get a place on the bench. He was also given few minutes during the Peter Mokaba Cup in Polokwane late in January.

“He has been working hard at training since we promoted him earlier this season. We had to work on improving all aspects of his game and he will soon be considered for selection, even if it is on the bench. He is currently learning a lot from the likes of Nkosinathi Nhleko, Jose Torrealba and Kaizer Motaung Jr and I have no doubt that he has a bright future here,” said Vermezovic.

The Serbian mentor also revealed that the fringe players will get extended runs during the Telkom and Nedbank cups later this season.

“It is very important that we give everyone a chance. Players who mostly played during the pre-season tournaments, like the one in Polokwane, will get their chance to show us as the Technical Team what they can offer us for next season. It is important that as we target winning something this season, we also start preparing for next season,” he added.
