Looking for perfect service delivery - Bhasera
Looking for perfect service delivery - Bhasera

Onismor Bhasera continues to be one of the star finds for Chiefs since he joined The Amakhosi from Maritzburg United in May, it was believed that the Zimbabwean international would be unable to continue with his fine pre-season form into the regular season.

Bhasera who turns twenty eight in December has proved the doubters wrong and on of the endearing sights of the season thus far has been Bhasera’s masquerading runs down the left for Chiefs, and during The Amakhosi’s last two league games Muhsin Ertugral experimented some what and afforded him the freedom to operate play more of an attacking role as a left winger.

It was a role in which he excelled and enjoyed being able to move up and down the park, and believes that he is comfortable on the left side of midfield just as he is at left back.

Perfect target man

With strikers of the quality of Mabhudi Khenyeza, Shaun Bartlett and Kaizer Motaung Junior to aim for, Onismor believes that it is up to him to get the strikers the right kind of service. The kind of service which will leave the strikers with the easy job of getting the ball into the back of the net, as he added “up front in Shaun Bartlett we have one of the best finishers in the league.

He has shown that if we get the ball to him in the right areas he can do the business, he has one goal already this season and was unlucky not to have gotten more against Wits”.

The Zimbabwean international is confident that he has put in enough work on the training ground to ensure that he gives the likes of Bartlett the kind of service needed to score goals and win games. As he explained, “one thing I do think I needed to get right was my balls into the danger area, with the coach and assistant coach over the week I feel that I have been able to work and have in some ways strengthened my game in this department”.

Left sided options

With the return from injury of David Obua and the coming into form of Siphiwe Tshabalala Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral is given a more than welcome selection headache as to who start on the left wing, while the Chiefs coach mulls over who to play on the left side of midfield it is likely that Bhasera will be moved back to his usual slot at left back for Sunday’s game against SuperSport.

He does not mind falling back into the defense as he is of the opinion that he could link up well with either Obua or Tshabalala, “over the past two seasons Chiefs have not been so strong on the left, with Siphiwe and David on top of their game we will be just as strong on the left as we are on the right.

For me it is important to get used to playing with Siphiwe or David ahead of me, they are very attack minded players and can give us a lot of room to maneuver on the left I do not have a problem slotting in at left back behind them”.
