Kaizer Chiefs striker Sthembiso Ngcobo has spoken frankly to Kaizerchiefs.com and has stated that even though he has not scored a goal this season in an official league and cup match he does feel that things are looking up for him and he is confident that he will change that stat soon.

He began his discussion on Thursday morning with Kaizerchiefs.com saying, "I am very settled at the club now both in terms of my football and moving from the Free State to Johannesburg, there is a better understanding between me and my teammates on the field and I would say that there are many things as it stands for me to be optimistic about."

While he may not have found the back of the net yet for Chiefs in an official game Ngcobo as he explains does feel that could soon change, "if you look at the way we have been playing the midfielders are laying on a lot of chances for the attackers and it helps when you a striker and been fed the ball that often. Taking that into account I am hopeful that soon enough I will be able to break the drought."

Ngcobo is also not letting himself get down by the fact that he is not starting regularly and adds that whatever game time he does get he wants to ensure that he makes an impact on the field of play.

"When I came to Chiefs I knew that it would be a challenge to immediately be in the start line up, just as important as starting is to make sure that even if I enter the match as a substitute I can help make a difference.

Everyone in the squad is aware that they have a role to play and I need to make sure that when it is my turn to fulfill the task I have been handed I am ready to do so, like I said to over any challenge you have to feel that you ready to conuer it and I feel that way right now."

Ngcobo will be looking to register his first goal of the season for the Amakhosi this weekend when they host his former team Free State Stars in a Telkom Knock Out Cup last eight game in Johannesburg.

Of facing his old team he said, "it will be emotional for me to face Stars lining up on the opposite side will be different, I do hope that I get to play and it will be a very good if I am able to score against them. What better time to start scoring than against your old team".
