Limpopo born defender, Punch Masenamela has been one of the key figures for Kaizer Chiefs this season despite only making 18 appearances for the team in both the league and the cup games.

Masenamela who is in second season with the Glamour Boys was speaking to Amakhosi magazine, “Life at Kaizer Chiefs has really been overwhelming. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and everything has gone according to plan,” he said.

“I only wish we could have won the league this season. If we could turn back those days at the start of the season and picked up some more points then I think we will be talking about something else. The spirit is really high in the camp and we are playing well right now,”

Punch also paid a tribute to coach, Vladimir Vermezovic, “He is really a good coach who always wants his players to improve. For example, he will have us do a certain number of sprints one day and then the next day he will ask us to do two more, or do the same amount but in a faster time. This means he is always pushing us to be better, faster and stronger,” added Masenamela who came to the Club through the recommendation of legend, Abel Shongwe.

The May issue of Amakhosi Magazine also features interview with Mthokozisi Yende, rejuvenated Dominic Isaacs and the exciting, Mandla Masango.
