Lets not get carried away - Obua

David Obua became a candidate for goal of the season when he struck a wonderful goal from distance to score Chiefs second goal, Obua on as a second half substitute against Wits on Wednesday gave Wits keeper Moeneeb Josephs no chance of stopping his injury time wonder goal.

Now the lanky Ugandan international has called for calm and has said that The Amakhosi are still very much under pressure and feeling the heat as they try to aim for a spot in the top five, and should not lose focus of the fact that they still need to play every game like it is a cup final.

With the pressure on them The Amakhosi came out on fire and took three points off a Wits team who were flying high, Obua believes that Chiefs need to put up the same kind of performance on Saturday against another of the leagues form teams SuperSport United.

Keep focus

Obua is well pleased with the fact that The Amakhosi were able to get a win after losing and drawing their previous two matches, and said “Wednesday’s victory was fantastic and we played with everything we had to win the match”.

Obua believes that the battle is far from over and Chiefs will have to be just as clinical against SuperSport on Saturday saying, “we have taken one step towards rectifying the problems we have had we now need to keep up the same work rate and play as well as we did on Wednesday in our next game and we should be okay”.

Golden Goal

Through his time at Chiefs Obua has had the knack of scoring spectacular goals and his goal on Wednesday was no different, he spoke kaizerchiefs.com through it and detailed what had happened. Obua said “the ball came to me at the perfect speed it was set up brilliantly and I hit it in the middle and I saw it swerve and for a second thought it was going wide but then amazingly it swung in and beat Josephs. It is always fantastic to score; scoring beautiful goals is all the more nicer”.
