Kaizer Chiefs Vs Platinum Stars

Vodacom Loftus Stadium, Tshwane

5th Match 2008

ABSA Premiership

Kick Off: 19h30

Playing Conditions: Light north easterly wind temperature at kick off 27° C

The Amakhosi go into their Wednesday evening match up against Platinum Stars without left back Onismor Bhasera and left winger Siphiwe Tshabalala, the former being ruled out through suspension while Tshabalala is working to over come a knee injury. Muhsin Ertugral apart from the enforced changes that he has had to make has pretty much kept the same formation from the team who perform credibly well over the weekend against Ajax Cape Town.

Obua steps in

David Obua will replace Tshabalala on the left wing. The Ugandan international set up Kaizer Motuang Junior for Chiefs equalizer against Ajax after coming off the bench as a second half substitute. Though he did later miss a penalty Ertugral was happy with his overall contribution in the match. Ditheko Mototo who started Chiefs match against SuperSport United on the 23rd of February and was used as a left winger, returns to the starting line up this time in the place of the suspended Bhasera in his more favoured role as a left back.

Nkambule in the reserves

Michael Nkambule has been brought into the match day squad. The South Africa U-20 player has been working hard through the week and has been rewarded for his input with a place in the match day 18. Ertugral has stuck to the attacking duo of Mabhudi Khenyeza and Shaun Bartlett while the goal scorer from Saturday’s match Kaizer Motaung Junior starts from the bench on Wednesday.
