Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung has slammed the conduct of Bafana Bafana supporters who were seen leaving their seats 10 minutes before the final whistle on Wednesday, June 16 as Bafana Bafana lost to Uruguay by 3-1.

Writing on his column on kaizerchiefs.com on Friday, 18 June 2010 he said, “The writing was on the wall when supporters added to the misery by abandoning the players at the time when they were needed most. This unsportsmanlike conduct obviously undermined the role of supporters and qualified the fickleness of their mentality that left their subjects to fight the battle alone,”

“Our supporters were also quick to give post-match criticism that added salt to wounds and forgot to consider their weakness that saw them walk away before the final whistle. I had thought by now South Africans would have learnt from our boisterous Bloemfontein Celtic supporters that encourage their team against all odds until the final whistle,” added Motaung SR. Who also urged the nation to get behind the national team on Tuesday, 22 June 2010 against former World Champions, France in Bloemfontein.
