South Africa U-23’s playing their second game of a two game series on Sunday in Rustenburg against the Ivorians scored midway through the first thanks to Lebogang Mokoena and held on to win the game and the series after drawing 2-2 with the Ivorians on Friday night.

Young Chiefs goalkeeper Khune showed maturity beyond his years as he communicated well with his defense and seemed to have learned a trick or two from Kaizer Chiefs first choice goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez with his pin point and well executed ball distribution.

Khune who joined the Amakhosi first team last year from the clubs junior ranks was first called up to the u-23 national team coached by former Kaizer Chiefs defender Steve Komphela last month when Amaglug Glug took on an beat their Ugandan counterparts.

Khune was a surprise inclusion in the Amaglug Glug starting line up on Sunday and proved his worth as he kept a clean sheet holding off the strong Ivorian front line, thus making strong claims to keep the number one spot through to the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.
