A month after dramatically overcoming Moroka Swallows in the opening round of the Telkom Charity Cup, The Amakhosi return to the sight of their September triumph - the Vodacom Loftus Stadium in Tshwane - to continue with their quest to win the 2007 Telkom Cup.

On Sunday afternoon Chiefs will face another stern test of their character against the home side SuperSport United in the quarterfinal of the competition, Muhsin Ertugral will be a happy man going into this game as he has a close to full strength squad to choose from.

The only players unavailable for the quarterfinal clash were long term injury lay off Tshepo Bulu and David Mathebula, while Jonathan Quartey is close to making a come back as he recovers from an injury he picked up during the shoot out victory over Swallows.

Khune come back

Itumeleng Khune missed out on playing in Chiefs last game which was a goalless draw in the league against Platinum Stars a week ago as he was experiencing a high fever, the twenty year old keeper is brought back into the line up at the expense of Emille Baron.

Baron, who started last weeks game against Stars, has been left out of the squad for the quarterfinal clash against United, Jimmy Tau as well comes back into the fray after missing the stars game he replaces Cyril Nzama who will begin Sunday’s game from the substitute’s bench. Chiefs final change in the starting line up has Gerald Sibeko in at central midfield the diminutive midfielder replaces David Obua, who like Nzama will be on the bench for the SuperSport game.

Mooki amongst the subs

Muhsin Ertugral will have the experience of veteran midfielder Thabo Mooki to call upon; the 33 year old midfielder takes the place of Sandile Zuke and comes back into contention after last playing against SuperSport United in a league game back in September. With David Obua and Cyril Nzama going down to the substitutes there is no space for Thuso Phala and Derrick Spencer in the squad for Sunday’s game. For the rest The Amakhosi are unchanged and Chiefs are at full strength for this crucial cup game and will be confident of racking up their fourth straight cup win over Matsasantsa.
