Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has withdrawn from the national under-23 squad ahead of their Olympic qualifier with Ethiopia.

According to reports, the Chiefs ‘keeper has swelling in his skull and is suffering from severe headaches.

The medical staff of the junior national team decided it would be better if he did not make the trip and was replaced by Ajax Cape Town’s Andre Petim.

Also missing the trip is rising star Clifford Ngobeni, who has an ankle strain.

The Amaglug-glug will be hoping for a positive start to their qualifying campaign in Addis Ababa, which will hopefully end in the team qualifying for the Olympic Games in Beijing next year.
