This was announced at the launch of 2008 South African Sports Awards Launch in Bloemfontein on Thursday.

Khune reacting to the news on Friday morning said, “I am honoured to be nominated with some of the best athletes in the country. I wish all those who have been nominated all the best. This to me is a challenge for me to continue working hard in improving all aspects of my game”

The 21-year-old goalkeeper who made his debut for Kaizer Chiefs less than 15 months, has already bagged awards that include PSL Goalkeeper of the Year Award 2007/2008 Season, PSL Player’s Player of the Year Award 2007/2008 Season, PSL Rookie of the Year Award 2007/2008 Season and Kaizer Chiefs Player of the Year Award 200/2008, among others.

The Awards will be held in Bloemfontein on the 28th November 2008.
