Kaizer Chiefs will have to do without the services of Itumeleng Khune for the next three months after suffering an injury on his hand in a game against Ajax Cape Town last weekend. This was revealed by the coach Vladimir Vermezovic on Tuesday night.

“It is sad to lose the services of a top goalkeeper like Itumeleng Khune. We are praying that he recovers quickly because he not only the asset for the Club but for the country as well ahead of the World Cup 2010,” he said.

Adding that the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper underwent a successful operation on Monday after he had damaged ligaments on his finger.

Itumeleng Khune was one of the interested spectators at Super Stadium as Chiefs went down to SuperSport United by 1-0. A long recuperation is expected.
