Paledi Mall in Mankweng, Polokwane was abuzz with excitement as Kaizer Chiefs players joined forces with Vodacom to host an activation ahead of Saturday’s Betway Premiership match against TS Galaxy. The event, which drew hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, was the perfect precursor to the highly anticipated showdown.
For the players, it was a welcome opportunity to connect with their fans and share in their passion. While the players appreciated the support from the fans, they acknowledged the importance of securing a win against TS Galaxy to uplift their own spirits. "This weekend's game has a lot of importance to us; it's a chance for us to get to where we want to be and uplift the mood," said Reeve Frosler, "Guys are positive, but a win always makes one feel a little better. We put in the work this week, and hopefully, we will come out with a result."
The team's recent setbacks have only strengthened their resolve to secure victory against the Rockets. Samkelo Zwane emphasised the significance of the match. "We understand the importance of the game; we understand that we have to move from the position that we are in right now. We have to show the supporters and everyone else that we can do it with the quality that we have. I think it will be a statement game," he said.
Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to improve their record against TS Galaxy, having had mixed results in their previous encounters. The team returns to Polokwane for a home match for the first time since December, and the players are eager to make a positive impact in front of their fans. "We're determined to rise to the occasion. We want to make our fans proud and get our season back on track," said Happy Mashiane.
