Chairman and Managing Director of Kaizer Chiefs, Mr. Kaizer Motaung undertook a nostalgic journey to the Vrede Townhall in the Free State Province to grace an occasion that honoured two of the provinces’ recently appointed Members of the Executive Council (MEC).

Remembering his roots, the Chairman told a huge crowd of invitees in a packed town hall that his parents were born from the little town of Vrede thus making him a true son of the Free State province.

The ANC in the Thabo Mofutsanyana District of the Eastern Free State Province had assembled the who’s who of politics and leadership to honour the appointment of MEC Sefora Ntombela and MEC Mosebenzi Zwane into its high provincial office.

The two officials have a history of serving in the high echelons of the ANC in district and it was thus befitting for the community to rally their support and urge them on to serve their needs.

In his address, Kaizer Motaung advised the two appointees and several other big-name ANC attendees to consider their socio-political and moral obligations of serving the citizens of the third largest province with honour and dignity to redress the challenges of unemployment, poverty, health and many others.

He also challenged the community to cooperate with its selected leaders to find harmony and peace so that their years of service where directed at bringing a better life for all.
