While his team glowed in bright gold track suits as they emerged from a pre match meeting early on Saturday morning at their Sandton hotel North of Johannesburg, Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp cut a more sublime figure dressed in a quieter navy blue jump suit.

In true Ernst Middendorp style he still looked elegant and composed as he announced his starting eleven for Saturday’s midday clash with Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Charity Cup.

The Chiefs coach has again as has become a common theme in his pre season preparations he has made four changes to the team that were defeated six days ago by Moroka Swallows on penalties in the Mangaung Cup.

Normal service resumes on Saturday as Cyril Nzama resumes the captains arm band, the man who has deputized for him over the past few weeks Fabian McCarthy retains his place with Nzama in the centre of defence.

Other movements at the back for Chiefs sees Patrick Mayo return to the game day eleven as he replaces Jimmy Tau, Ernst Middendorp has made a tactical change in midfield by including veteran midfielder Thabo Mooki for Scara Ngobese. Up front Kaizer Motaung Junior gets the nod to partner up with Shaun Bartlett thus resigning Ghanaian striker Louis Agyemang to the substitute’s bench.

Ernst Middendorp did in midweek say that should he find the correct time he would like to at some time on Saturday bring in Ivorian striker Serge Djiehoua.

As the Amakhosi arrived at the FNB Stadium it became evidently clear that Bloemfontein Celtic are awaiting the winner of their clash with Sundowns, the Chiefs coach is insistent that his team will first concentrate on Sundowns before thinking of Celtic.

All that said Chiefs will still be out to stop Sundowns from completing a repeat final from last year, when Sundowns met and defeated Celtic in the final.
