Kaizer Chiefs development players, Mzuvele Skhosana, Mondli Miya, Sandile Mtshali and Siyanda Xulu will jet off to Germany on Sunday as part of Coca Cola Football Stars. The youngsters will have an opportunity to play against development teams in Germany including giants, Bayern Munich.

Mzuvele Skhosana took some time to speak to kaizerchiefs.com ahead of the trip to Germany, “I am excited to be going with the Football Stars to Germany, the country that hosted the World Cup in 2006. I’m excited by the prospect of learning more about the culture of the Germans and of course how they do things on and off the field.

I have been to Spain and England so I welcome the opportunity to go to Germany. I am happy that together with my teammates at Kaizer Chiefs development we are there to represent the Club during this tour” said Mzuvele, a former captain of National Under 17 team (Amajimbos) who missed out on the opportunity to join Football Stars last year because of national team commitments.

“I am hoping to impress not only the scouts overseas but the first team at Chiefs. It is my dream to don the black and gold jersey” he said.

Skhosana has been training with the first team for the past two weeks and thanked the coach for allowing him to train with the first team in preparation for the trip to Germany.

“I want to thank the coach for allowing me to train with the first team. I have learnt a lot from the senior players in the team. The experience to compete with the older and more physical strong players has prepared me for the challenge ahead. I also want to take this opportunity and pay tribute to Itumeleng Khune who has been supportive since our days in the development and since I started with Coca Cola Football Stars. He is like family and looks after me” he added.

The Coca Cola Football Stars accompanied by former Kaizer Chiefs striker Kenny Niemach and Paul Mathews will come back to these shores on 11 September 2008.

Kaizer Chiefs Head of Development, Walter Steenbok said, “This augers well with our development process that helps to accelerate the future Amakhosi stars by presenting opportunities to these boys to learn and interact with different opposition at international level” he said.
