English football giants, Manchester United, who were crowned European Kings at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, will try to replicate that form here in South Africa when they meet Mzansi’s own giants , Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the 2008 edition of the Vodacom Challenge. Sir Alex Fergusson (Manager) has vowed to bring the strongest squad with the exception of players who’ll participate in the Euro 2008.

Man U website wrote: “Manchester United have some unfinished business with four time winners Kaizer Chiefs, after the Amakhosi beat the Red Devils in a penalty shoot-out in the final of the prestigious annual tournament two years ago”.

The English giants have made their intentions clear, that they’ll be here on a mission to win the tournament. Supporters of the beautiful game can brace themselves for an electrifying and exiting opening match.

Tickets sales for the opening match between Kaizer Chiefs and Manchester United scheduled for Newlands Stadium, Cape Town on July 19th are expected to go into overdrive. This after Man U won the UEFA Champions League for the third time and Premier League for two (2) consecutive seasons.

Tickets for this match are on sale at just R250 (west grandstand), R120 (north and south stands), R120 (east stand lower level) and R60 (east stand upper level)

Whenever these two Soweto giants clash, the stage is set alight, regardless of the occasion. The rest of the South African soccer fraternity is as passionate about the Derby as if it were a cup final.
